HOSTING SERVICES
Interlex maintains its own cluster of servers on a cloud architecture, utilizing rack space at the Powertel data center in Melbourne and at the AAPT data center.
Our hosted applications platform underpins the core of application delivery and services to its cloud computing platform. The types of applications that Interlex can deliver are only limited by the customers’ imagination. Any Microsoft or Linux application that a customer can conceive for the web, the organisation or cloud, can be hosted. Examples range from the outsourcing of all business productivity functions (such as Exchange, Office, Sharepoint and Data Protection Manager), to Web applications such as widgets, Web 2.0 / HTML 5 applications and beyond.
These applications can extend from standard small business requirements such as shared web hosting, virtual machine hosting and dedicated application hosting. The application sits on an underlying architecture that provides hardware resiliency reliability and maximises uptime.
Interlex – The Cloud! (hosting area)
Within the cloud, Interlex currently have a number of virtual servers built on the VMware platform. This cluster allows clients to scale up and down resources on demand and as required. The cluster delivers hardware real-time fail over. Should a hardware failure occur, system maintenance be required, or if the resources require more performance beyond the node the system is currently attached to. Attached to this infrastructure is an iSCSI SAN with redundant storage hardware. This storage architecture protects the customer’s data in almost real-time without having to pay for their own costly redundant infrastructure.
Primary Hosting Facility – Flinders Street, Melbourne (hosting area)
The primary facility is located Flinders Street in Melbourne. It is a tier 1 facility that provides core infrastructure across two equipment racks. Within the facility, two Cisco 7200 series routers provide router redundancy and fail over to remote interconnect points in Richmond and at Rialto Towers.
The Interlex data centre provides power, fire control / suppression, air-conditioning systems and environmental measures, which is security controlled and alarmed 24x7.
Access to the data centre requires pre-approval from the AAPT Network Operations Centre in Sydney along with Telephone confirmation upon arrival at site and the activation of swipe cards that further define the access security of the building.
Adjacent to the colocation room is PowerTEL’s Victorian Network Operations Centre (NOC). This NOC is the primary termination point for PowerTEL’s DSL enabled exchanges as well as the interconnect point for all the major Victorian inter-transit peer providers such as Telstra, Optus, Internode, Pipe Networks and AAPT.
Interlexs core network interconnects in to this core, as well as a secondary Cisco router providing failover redundancy for network connectivity via AAPT’s Burnley colocation centre.
High Availability (hosting area)
As part of its service delivery, Interlex provide a 99.9% availability guarantee with penalties if these targets are not met. Furthermore Interlex provide all the hardware support that the customer requires included in its monthly service charge.
The staff at Interlex have always been friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and the quality of their work has always been first class.
Thank you very much for informing us. We are impressed with your professionalism and efficiency. Thanks again.
