Brett Birkett
Founder/ Managing Director
Co-Founder / Director of whateyedo.com
Brett founded Interlex Solutions in early 2005, and now has more than 8 years experience in managing IT companies, and around 13 years experience with IT related projects. In 2008, Brett was named one of the Top 30 Under 30 Entrepreneurs in Australia by PricewaterhouseCoopers and Smartcompany.com.
Bretts passion for Information Technology began at an early age of 12. He learnt how to write software in various languages such as C, C++, Pascal and Basic. After developing strong programming skills in multiple windows, linux and web based languages, he began writing commercial grade software for himself and various clients, starting his own business while studying a Bachelor of Computing at Monash University. Following his last year at Monash, Brett accepted a position with one of his biggest clients which lead him on a career path to Fortress Networks, where he was offered the position of Chief Architect. He was in charge of all software development projects for the company, covering languages such as C#.NET, PHP, C and Flash. Brett has extensive experience working in South East Asia, where he managed teams of up to 50 software developers and network engineers on various projects for companies in Australia. In Sri Lanka, Brett worked closely with large organizations such as HSBC, SLT (Sri Lanka Telecom), Lanka Internet, and the Colombo Police.
Bretts technical expertise in networking, security and software development, along with his ability to speak non technical language with clients, allows him to bridge the gap between clients and the developers. He has the ability to work closely with clients, directly assisting them with their needs, and is always personally involved in the creation of solutions for various client business problems.
Tanya Shah
Business Administrator
Tanya joined Interlex early 2010 and only recently completed her first year at Interlex as the Business Administrator. After completing her Diploma of Business at RMIT, she transferred to Monash to do her Bachelors in Global Studies. Tanya believes she is a global citizen and loves the multi-cultural environment of Australia and of course in Interlex.
Tanya has done very well as a leader in her administrative, management and human resource duties and enjoys her responsibilities with a pinch of fun and enjoyment in everything she does. She believe that everything is always a work in progress and is always keen to seek the best and most efficient way of doing things and loves to involve herself in order to keep the progress going.
Nigel Harbridge
General Manager
Nigel’s attributes his ability to build respectful relationships with clients to his diverse background in many different and varying industries. His travelling experience has also allowed him to be more understanding of cultural differences when working with clients and people.
With over ten years’ experience in IT related fields and a Bachelor of Network Computing from Monash University he is greatly valued at Interlex Solutions for his professionalism and work ethic. On a lighter side Nigel enjoys socialising with friends and workmates, and loves watching and playing a variety of Australian sports.
Mitali Patel
Software Developer
With 8 years of education in field of Software Development including a Bachelor in Computer Application, Master of Computer Science (Syracuse US) and over 1.5 years of commercial experience Mitali is our upcoming Software developer.
Mitali has done significant work in Desktop and Web Application development and has very good understanding of technologies like HTML, CSS, C#, C++, VB.Net, ASP.Net, C, XML, Oracle and SQL. Apart from software development, Mitali also possess advanced skill in Search Engine Optimization. With a keen eye on detail and enthusiasm to learn new technologies Mitali has made significant contributions to our project delivery.
Srikanth Lavudia
Software Developer
Srikanth joined the Interlex team in early March 2010 and has become an essential part of the software team. Having studied a Masters in Information Technology from Swinburne University of Technology he brings to the table abundant knowledge and understanding in various technologies.
He has extensive knowledge in HTML , CSS, ASP, PHP, C#, Javascript, Java and CakePhp. Additionally he has worked with databses such as MySql and Oracle and has extensive knowledge of the Agile Software Development Process.
Amri Sannang
Software Developer
Although he has only joined the Interlex team as of early 2011, Amri has already played a role in modernising the Interlex Solutions development process - applying modern development processes such as Continuous Integration, Agile Development and Test-Driven Development to his own work as well as enabling his fellow team members to use those same processes.
After gaining his Bachelor of Software Engineering, Amri has racked up 5 years of web development experience - and throughout that time he has been passionate about improving his skills and learning more about the software development process and related fields such as server setup, systems administration and customer support.
He also has a history of introducing and familairising his co-workers with previously unfamiliar technologies such as Desktop Linux, Subversion and Git version control, shell scripting and virtual machine usage.
Neville Pereira
Graphic/Web/UI Designer
Neville fuels the graphic services that Interlex offers. He delivers a contemporary outlook on design solutions and has extended his current graphic design skills to web development and UI design.
Neville delivers a fresh outlook with new design concepts and ideas. He also excels at Web Design and creation of industry standard print designs from identity to full blown advertisements. He supports the software team by working closely on UI designs that are both functional and effective. Coming from a completely creative background, he tackles a wide array of new media and is a strong believer in the effectiveness of the digital medium.
Yasiru de Silva
Network Engineer
Yasiru counts over seven years of experience with exposure in Technical as well as Managerial aspects of Systems Implementation, Administration, IT Service Delivery and IT Project Management. He has accomplished many large IT projects both locally and internationally. IT Security and IT Strategic Planning are other key interest areas pursued by him.
Yasiru obtained his B.Sc (Computer Science) from University of Middlesex & his M.Sc (Networking) from University of Portsmouth. He completed his MCSE, CCNP, CEH and is also a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS). He has received further industry training in the United States and several countries in South East Asia. Prior to joining Interlex, he was working as a Technical Consultant at the R&D Lab of British Telecom in U.K. He has amassed experience in areas of FOSS, E-Commerce and Networking Technologies. Yasiru has also been involved through the inception of several leading FOSS projects, such as One Laptop per Child (OLPC), Sahana Disaster Management System and Tarprobane GNU/Linux Distribution. He is an active member of the Lanka Linux User Group and the Sri Lankan FOSS Community.
